| Requirements for a New Passport |
| |
 |
Completed passport application form, |
|
Three passport-sized photos (with name written at the back), |
|
Evidence of Afghan citizenship (Tazkera or previous passport), and |
|
Passport application fee for one year of validation is $24. Passports with validation for 2, 3, 4 and 5 years are also available with fees of $44, $64, $84 and $104 respectively. |

Requirements for a Passport Extension

|
Presence of the holder of the passport |
|
Completed passport extension application form, |
|
Two passport-sized photos (with name written at the back), |
|
Your original passport, and |
|
Passport renewal fee for 1 (one) year is $20. Passport extensions for 2, 3, 4 and 5 years are $40, $60, $80 and $100 respectively. |

Travel Document (Outpass)
Travel Documents are issued by the Embassy under the special circumstances. For example, deportees with no valid passports obtain Travel Documents issued by the Embassy. In addition, If an individual looses his/her passport and provides sufficient documentation in support of the loss of his/her passport and would like to return to Afghanistan, the Embassy may decide to issue a Passport for the return to Afghanistan. |
